Yes! Gone are the days of rolling up your skirt to just under that invisible line where your mum tells you you're wearing a belt, we are all about length now.
Silk midi skirts have been on our radar since that realisation par leopard print piece took Instagram by storm. Now we are watching the high street come out with their affordable versions. I have done the work and found the best one. This Topshop midi is the only thing I ever want to wear again, hence why I bought it in every colour (Goodbye New Years resolution to spend less money).
My favourite shade by far is the black version. Classic and sexy this skirt says ‘yes I am a top lawyer from a tv show and I am far too busy and important for a man even though everyone in the office is in my DMs’ (Pair with a Ralph Lauren day bag, a fitted shirt and a khaki trench for the full look)
I’ve paired the skirt with a black high neck jumper and my vintage Dior bag for a monochrome look with a hint of print. Throw in a few gold details and some oversized sunglasses that earned me a ‘you look like Victoria Beckham’ comment on insta (BEST COMPLIMENT EVER, THANK YOU THANK YOU!) and you’ve got yourself a look.
If you are of the opinion that a longer hem line looks too frumpy or gives you ‘Amish vibes’ then let this skirt change your opinion. This skirt is everything a midi skirt should be, figure hugging (come through extra curvy hips I gained over Christmas curtesy of eating a chocolate orange as breakfast every day for a week), beautifully silky, which photographs like a dream, and effortlessly chic. You could wear this skirt with chunky trainers or Valentino rock studs, a chunky knit turtle neck or lace cami top. I’ve added the skirt plus everything I’d style it with below!
