It's spring! And the trench is back in Fashion!!!! As ground breaking in spring fashion as florals the trench is back again to take its place as the coat of the season.
If you've been following me for a while you'll know that coats are my thing! (Maybe bags too if I'm being honest) I already have three new trench coats this year but this one from Missguided (peace and love collection) is my absolute favourite!
When looking for a trench coat that isn't Burberry the aim is to make it look Burberry, and I don't just mean sowing a checkered lining into it! It's all in the details, I love how the collar comes down on this one and the way the sleeves are tied in with the uber chic buckles.
A trench goes with everything! It's the lazy girls guide to being FashHun. Jeans and a tee kinda gal? Throw on a trench, trainers and a statement bag. Super girly flouncy dresses more your style? Grab your trench and some sling backs. Personally my trench pairs perfectly with a tweed co-ord from Pull and Bear (size up on the skirt if you're tall or have hips) some Steve Madden sandals and the most over the top cat eye sunglasses you can find (mango).
These sunglasses are so insanely over the top they have their own soft-top vintage car and silk head scarf.
Although a classic piece in any wardrobe; styling a trench can be tricky. You don't want to look like a flasher, PI or a watch salesman. So be careful with hats and attempt to stray away from an all black look (I know it's hard, be strong!) If you're a little edgy and think the trench is too classic and suburban for you my tip would be to simply roll the sleeves up in a ruffled manor, I'm not cool enough to pull of this look myself but it's oh so chic.
Here's to easy fashion and the trench!
